I am very interested in your workshop. My concern is my level of skill. I can throw, but have never been comfortable with it. I simply cannot get through that very awkward feeling. I am left handed and always felt I was simply approaching it wrong. Would I fit in to this workshop. Wouldn’t want to slow anyone down.

    • brianvelocity says:

      Diane,
I think that you would fit in well. I know that Simons teaching style is that all potters need to master the basics. Like pulling the perfect cylinder, and making a general purpose bowls. I think that everyone has a different starting point, but we all want to be able to do a few things well. Some may progress through these basics quickly becuase they have been doing it for years, and others it may take the entire two days. If someone like Simon who has been throwing his entire life takes the time to practice cylinders, and simple forms it makes we think that we are always learning. Perhaps we can get you throwing on a left handed wheel.
